| We invite the family, friends, and sponsors forward for the Sacrament of Baptism. At Salem we invite the children of the congregation forward for a close-in view and the pastors speak frequently just to them. |

| The sponsor holds the infant over the water while the pastor baptises the new child of God in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. |  |
| The newly baptised Christians are introduced to the congregation and infants are carried into the midst of the gathering for a close-by introduction. |  |
