Salem's charming, cozy Fireside Room has served us well for many decades. It is designed to be a relaxed retreat from the the busy-ness of church life and to be an enjoyable space to flow from the courtyard and back again. But for many years it has seen tremendous use as the only suitable gathering room for a dozen to fifty people -- it serves for dinners, for Bible class, for Confirmation, for Merry Mac gatherings, for AA meetings, for Church Council meetings, for FishCatcher assembly, for Easter Seals children's exercise, for SLCW Inspirationals, for P.T.O. meetings -- a myriad of uses. And now its 1960's technological level needs upgrading -- and we are going to enclose some of the glass so that we have more wall space and more environmental control. October 4, we began to remove the glass wall, carefully rolling back the carpet to protect it. And on Ocotober 5 we will continue with additional congregational support.

Pastor Glen stretches into the task!
