Lenten Soup Suppers
Return to Fellowship
During Lent, Salem enjoys Soup Suppers before we have the evening Lenten Service. People bring soup or bread and we share with each other. Usually at 6:00 we have four or five different pots of soup and three or four kinds of bread. And as the supper progresses and more people arrive - from work or from another activity - usually two or three more pots arrive. Bean, beef, tofu, noodles, chicken, tomato, cheese, broccoli, taco, meatball - all kinds of different soups. And garlic bread, rolls, hearty whole wheat, and bread sticks add to the food. And for beverage, water.

Friends to talk with - to share the events of the day or to share dreams or fears, hopes and worries. Soup Supper is a wonderful activity to prepare for the Lenten Service.

Come join us (during Lent, only) Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. Bring a favorite soup or bread to share if you can. And if you cannot, come and share food brought by someone else. Enjoy an evening meal and a vespers worship.
