At Salem, we strive to make our ministry be synonymous with all the activity that we do. We want our deeds of ministry to flow from our calling and our hope is that our ministry is grounded in our relationship with Jesus, the Christ.

Many of our ministry activities are lay driven -- with pastoral oversight, direction, and guidance. These ministries of the people include such activities as feeding the homeless, hosting SLCW circle gatherings, teaching Sunday School, and arranging soup suppers before Lenten services.

Other ministry activities are the primary focus of our pastoral staff, including both clergy and professional lay leaders. Sermons in worship, choir music, health ministry, and pastoral counselling are examples of these ministry activities.

And yet other ministries include work that people outside the Church may not understand to be "ministry" -- but we recognize that this work truly is ministry. For example, secretarial work, changing light bulbs, maintaining our website, cleaning toilets, answering phones, caring for acolyte robes, and paying bills are all ministries dedicated to the kingdom of God.

As you look over our ministries (see left), consider what you may be able to contribute to the Lord's work.

The Lord will bless your ministry as you become a blessing to others.
