Back-to-School Night was the evening of the first day of school -- which made a long day for the teachers and staff (Day Care begins at 7:00am and BTS Night began at 7:00pm.). But it's a good day to have it -- both Parents and School are primed with questions about specifics and general principles and both parties are eager to listen.We started the evening with a fashion show -- Salem students, from kindergarten through fifth grades, modeled various configurations of the dress code uniforms. It was fun and instructive!
Then Ms. Ghada Huleis, Salem's principal, led the assembly program in the church sanctuary, with input from Pastor Glen, the School Chaplain, Tom Queally, the School Board Chair, and Kathy Boice, Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) President. After a multimedia presentation about our excellent Summer Day Care program and additional short announcements about music and cub scouts, we then moved to the classrooms where the teachers met with parents to talk about the year ahead.
