Salem Lutheran Church
Food for Body and Soul -- 2002

Each day of the week the hungry and homeless are fed by the Salvation Army at their location in Glendale. A wonderful ministry. But on Sunday, the Salvation Army is closed for a Day of Rest and Worship. So a few years ago a ministry began in Glendale to feed the hungry on Sunday. Churches in Glendale open their campuses to give meals to the needy on Sunday afternoons. Salem picked two months, July and December, to provide facilities and volunteers to help Food For Body and Soul. Food for Body and Soul also provides meals twice monthly during the week at the Salvation Army Center.

July 21, 2002, volunteers from Salem Lutheran Church -- along with regular FFB&S volunteers and volunteers from Holy Family Catholic Church -- help in the kitchen to prepare the lunch.
