Stewardship Ministry
Simply Giving  |  Time & Talent  |  Stewardship Committee  |  Big Fix-Up  |  HouseParty

One of the privileges and responsibilities of being a part of a family is caring for and about others in our family. As parents or children or aunts or uncles, we have special relationships of love with others in our family -- and a duty to care for them.

In our human family, in our Christian family, and in our Salem family we also have the privilege and the responsibility of caring for and about each other. The Stewardship Ministry helps us be aware of our relationships with each other and it helps us determine how best to care for each other.

All of us have time and talents that God has given us to use to help others and to enjoy for ourselves. Through our Stewardship Ministry, we learn to identify our different talents, gifted by God to us, so that we can use our gifts to help others.

Our money offerings, both in regular giving -- often weekly -- and in giving for special occasions, are one way to care for God's people. Our Stewardship Ministry encourages sacrificial giving to the Lord both to provide help for God's people and also to deepen our understanding of our relationship with God.

Our time and talent offerings -- whether we have carpentry or baking skills, teaching or praying skills, musical or accounting skills, sewing or listening skills -- are respected and the Stewardship Ministry encourages sacrificial giving to the Lord also in this very personal part of our offering.

Salem Lutheran Church wants you to strengthen your understanding of your relationship with the Lord and to strengthen your relationship with other people through sacrificial giving. The Stewardship Ministry encourages you to increase your involvement in Salem's programs of teaching and feeding and listening and worshipping and housing and preaching and rejoicing and sharing. Give your money, give your time, give your expertise, give willing hands to the Lord to help others.

The Lord has given us much -- over which we are his caretakers, his stewards. Salem's Stewardship Committee helps us fulfill our stewardship responsibility to the Lord over the gifts that he has given us.
