Hats were important at our High Tea

The Christmas English Tea was December 4 and presented by Ian and Clare. They prepared sandwiches and desserts for us and personally served the tea. They gave us a short talk about how to brew good tea (or example, never prepare it in the microwave).

The women had fun borrowing Jackie Moore's collection of hats -- hats dating back some 50 years. (Do you see Jane Krueger and Pam Bernier getting first pick?) We had three door prizes with Ginny Sieger winning the big Tea Basket and Jeanette Fristad and her daughter both won the second and third door prizes.

We heard three Christmas stories, the candy cane store, the true meaning of the song The Twelve Days of Christmas, and a verse written by Edith. We closed with singing Christmas carols lead by Cara Clove with Sue Siebels playing our new piano.

We had squeezed 68 women into the Fireside Room for the event. Ian and Clare had so much fun and enjoyed our ladies that they would like to make it an annual event. PS. Ian is the man walking around with the Tea Pot. This event was to celebrate Christmas and to invite new friends to our women's programs.
