Roy's Annual Lifewater Charity Run 2.0 / July 9-10!!
THIS YEAR'S GOALS: RUN 24 HOURS NON-STOP; SURPASS LAST YEAR'S DISTANCE; SURPASS TOTAL MONEY RAISED
Join Me: I will be running from 6pm July 9th-6pm July 10th to raise money for Lifewater International. Please consider running or biking with me for as little or as much as you can. I'll be looping from the Arcadia area down to Long Beach and back using the San Gabriel River Bike Path, which does not allow cars so we have miles of safe terrain to do the deed! There are lots of places to park your car and join me running or ride your bike along side me. We'll have people that you can call to coordinate a meeting spot. Here is a link to some maps and useful info for getting on and off the path: San_Gabriel_River_bicycle_path
Donate: I hope you will consider making a donation to this cause that I am very passionate about. The donation process is fast, super easy and totally secure at FirstGiving.com. Also, I will have a table set up Sunday, July 8th, to accept donations.
The Cause: Lifewater International. This wonderful organization
helps folks in Third World Countries get access to clean water,
sometimes for the first time in their lives. Check Out:
Lifewater.org. Also, view pictures below. You can also watch their
Videos to find out more about how they work.
The Big Finish (Potluck picnic/party): I will end my 24 hour run on my Birthday with a few laps around the Rose Bowl. If you want to bring your kids, this is a family friendly place to bicycle. I hope to have lots of friends around at the finish line! We'll all meet somewhere on the south lawn of the rose bowl. please rsvp/email roy if you can attend. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, please email me at email@example.com. You can read about last year's run below.
P.S. Last year, with the help of some hearty friends who gave up the better part of 2 days, I raised $2,000 so that children, men, and women in Ethiopia could gain safe water, health, and wholeness! I ran 100 miles, from Ventura to Mt Pinos in the Grapevine area. This PDF 100 Mile Wrap Up gives a synopsis of my 2011 experience.
