• ELCA Disaster Response has provided emergency relief aid to the victims of the earthquakes in Haiti (Jan.) and Chile (Feb.).
• There are 36 ELCA mission personnel serving in 14 nations in this region, supplying ministry-building skills plus ELCA grants for leadership development.
• The 2009 ELCA budget for Latin America and the Caribbean was $2.5 million.
