Sunday Lunch Program for the Hungry

Formerly known as Food for Body and Soul, this Glendale-based program provides free lunches to the homeless, the hungry and the poor each Sunday.

This ecumenical effort involves half a dozen local churches which host the lunch on a rotating basis throughout the year. Salem is the setting in July and December. Other local churches regularly provide volunteers.

Reorganized last year, this program consists of “Serving Teams” at Salem which are responsible for that day’s food preparation, set-up, service and clean-up.

Program worked very effectively in 2009 and the community is grateful for the many Salem members and friends who volunteered their time and talents.
