Sunday Morning Children's Ministry - "Join the Journey"

The journey for this age group takes place in our rotational Sunday school format which is like no other Sunday school you have experienced. Instead of meeting each week in the same classroom with the same teacher, children rotate to different workshop stations to learn the Bible story or experience the theme in fun and exciting ways.  Built from the theory that we all learn in different ways, children hear the story or work on the theme as they rotate through workshops on art, storytelling, games, music, science and cuisine.

Walk By The Water

Walk by the Water is our worship service for children 4-years-old through fourth grade. The children begin worship with their parents and then are dismissed for Children’s Church, where they are taught how to worship God. They learn how to act, how to talk to God through singing, art and prayer, and how to listen to God by reflecting on the stories of God. Children process from the Sanctuary, accompanied by one of our teaching volunteers, to our Fireside Room. At the close of their service, the children return to the Sanctuary and process to the altar to kneel, observe the preparation of, and participate in prayers for Holy Communion. The children then return to sit with their parents/family to participate with them in communion and the remainder of the service.  Walk by the Water is offered every Sunday throughout the year at the 11:00 service.

Choirs

Salem offers a wide variety of opportunities for anyone looking to enjoy music. This includes the Schola Cantorum choirs: Jubilate for 1-3 grades, and Cantate Domino for 4-8 grades. Handbells are also available for anyone in 5th until 12th grades and there are three choirs: Joyful Sound, Master Bells (both school choirs for 5th and 6th grade), and Tintinnabulum (high school bells).
