Door of Hope

Door of Hope was founded in 1985 and has two locations, one in northwest Pasadena and one in Glendale.

  • Its mission is to equip homeless families to rebuild their lives.
  • Services are provided to two-parent families and single mothers with children.
  • A transitional program is offered which includes housing, meals and counseling. A portion of job earnings is put into savings to allow a move into permanent housing.
  • An after school program offers homework help plus interaction on spiritual, emotional and social levels.
  • Salem backs this ministry with an annual grant of $1,000 plus special donations. Our Facilities Committee team has made major repairs, and Owen Miller’s Eagle Scout project (with your support) provided a new state-of-the-art playground!
  • You Can Help by joining in on one an upcoming Work Day. Watch Sunday bulletins for details regarding these service opportunities.
  • You Can Also Help by donating items requested on Door of Hope’s “Wish List”.
