My friends in Christ, summer is here. June is the middle month containing the middle day which marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. For my people in Sweden, Midsomer is a great day of celebration as the people thank God for his blessings, for family, and for the gift of “daily bread.” It would be easy to mistake the day as merely a festival of sunshine, it is that, but it is much more. It is a seasonal marker of God’s time. A powerful recognition that time is moving. Our days are always changing, growing longer or shorter as God wills.
