As Christians - we have often used the butterfly as a symbol of the resurrection. Around the world people view the butterfly as a symbol of hope, new life and change.
Please take time to color one or more of these butterfly pages. When the quarantine is over and it is possible, we ask that you bring them to church or mail them so that a display can be made in our outside garden.

This will help Salem to show our community: we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have endured the hardship of quarantine and we have hope in a renewal of our ministry in and around Salem.
Be creative! Have fun!
Communion Bread for ZOOM Sunday worship!
Recipe from Luther Seminary
Sift dry ingredients together 3x (important!)
2C Whole Wheat Flour
1C White Flour
1.25 tsp baking powder
1.25 tsp salt
Stir in 4 tsp oil. Set aside.
Mix we ingredients together until dissolved:
.75C + 2Tbsp very hot water
3 Tbsp honey
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well. Dough should be slightly sticky. Do not knead.
Divide into four balls and flatten each into .25" thick disk.
With a knife, score the top of each loaf into eight pie-shaped sections, so that the sections can be more easily broken off while serving. Alternatively, you could score a cross onto the loaf.
Lay the loaves on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and brush the tops of the loaves with oil. Bake an additional 5-8 minutes. Let cool.
Yield: four 8 oz loaves. Each loaf serves 60-70 people, depending upon the size of the piece given. The loaves freeze well.
